What is Generation Beauty? Generation Beauty is a two day (three- with special invite) beauty event that brings beauty lovers, sponsors, makeup artists, bloggers, and beauty gurus together. Founded by the makers of IPSY formerly My Glam Bag.

This was my first experience at an event like this- it was overwhelming, but a really fun learning experience.  With anything in life there are things that can be improved.  It was around November/December that I seriously started thinking about attending Generation Beauty.  A few days later I bit the bullet and bought my ticket for the early bird/pioneer price of $50.00.  Keep in mind if you do not buy your tickets early the pricing gets as high as $150.00.

Now onto the good stuff! I attended with three lovely ladies, one of them you may know as Makeupateer Erin.

First order of business when in Cali!

In & Out has awesome food, but the lines are totally ridiculous!  The seating is a whole other story- Please make your restaurants bigger with ample seating arrangements!

Generation Beauty is a registered event: This is where you pick up your badge, program, and bag.  You can opt to register Saturday, the day of the event or they do offer a two hour window on Friday for early registration.  Early registration is very much recommended to find the location and save time for more events on Saturday.

But first let’s take a selfie while running around LA Live

GRIPE: Directions listed on the website are horrible and do not give enough information to people who have never been to the event.  Also ALL staff at LA LIVE need to be better trained of events and locations.   It literally took an hour of running around LA Live to find the location of Generation Beauty.  Finally the light at the end of tunnel…

Now that all Gen beauty business is handled for the day ✌ time for some fun!!

Generation Beauty Day 1

image

Generation Beauty opened its doors at 11 AM with girls bum rushing the doors and running to all different booths.  Honestly, it was a overwhelming and so beautifully put together.

Each booth at Generation Beauty had a demonstration, guest speaker, and/or task to do.  Tasks were given to either enter a giveaway they had going on or to get a free product.  Certain booths also provided free makeovers, hairstyling, and manicures.

Keep in mind the lines at this event can get ridiculously long real quick.  So we decided to take in the informational panels that Ipsy put together.  This is where YouTube beauty gurus give advice on a number of different topics on how to start a YouTube channel, how to find your style, and how to balance everyday life.

After listening to some panels, testing out products, networking with brands, and get some makeovers, it was time to socialize!  I got to meet some of my favorite youtubers and may I add some of them made it feel like you have been friends forever.

While meeting some of these beautiful ladies we also went to grab our happy hour bags.  Happy hour is during the last hour of Generation beauty you turn in your tickets at one of the booths listed on the ticket to collect your free swag bag, you can also hit up the booths and get extra free items during this time.  We also got to meet some of the lovely ladies we are in a beauty swap group with.

Day one was very eventful and such an amazing experience- also very draining!! Now, we want to make the most out of our day.

We ended the night with dinner at Hard Rock Cafe on Hollywood blvd.
Food was good, but overly priced.  I would choose to eat somewhere else if you have a chance.  Afterwards, we decided to play tourists again.  We walked up and down Hollywood blvd, checked out the walk of fame, Ripley’s , and shopped in all the little souvenir shops 😎.

That’s it for registration and Day 1… Keep an eye out for Generation Beauty Day #2!
